Mountain Joy Cottages is centrally located in the heart of Maggie Valley and within easy access to all of the area attractions. We are just minutes off of the Scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Hike the many area trails and swim in rushing mountain streams. Picnic in the quiet areas of the Cataloochee Valley or on top of a mountain with 360 degree vistas. The area is loaded with craft, antique, and gift shops. There is something for everyone. The great outdoors offers horseback riding, golfing on area mountain courses, trout fishing in streams, white water rafting, and scenic drives that include everything from long range mountain views to sparkling waterfalls. Everyone will enjoy, miniature golf, and snow skiing for the entire family at the Cataloochee Ski Area. They offer a variety of classes for all levels and all equipment rentals. All of this fun is located right here in Maggie Valley. Nightlife includes everything from Jazz to Bluegrass, and clogging. Kids are always welcome.
Area attractions include a train ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Railway- a scenic ride through the mountains, Biltmore Estate- the largest house in America, and the Cherokee Indian Reservation with it's village, museum and drama. We are a short drive from Harrah's Casino and Cherokee. As you can tell, there are a great many things to keep you busy but remember to leave time for relaxing on your porch while the children play in our meadow. You can see the play area from the porch of every cabin. Mountain Joy makes a wonderful place to relax and plan your next day´s activities.
